Terms of Service

Effective date: 1 June 2026

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Kindred, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Kindred. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@kindredapp.ch if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity
  • Post content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, or illegal
  • Upload images that do not depict you, or that contain nudity or graphic content
  • Use the platform to solicit money, promote products or services, or engage in commercial activity
  • Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the platform
  • Create multiple accounts or attempt to circumvent a suspension

5. Content you post

You retain ownership of content you upload (photos, messages, profile text). By posting it, you grant Kindred a limited license to store and display it solely to operate the service. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

You are solely responsible for the content you post. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Privacy

Your use of Kindred is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

7. Community balance

Kindred maintains gender balance across its active community. Your account may be placed in a queue if the current balance does not allow immediate activation. This is a platform fairness mechanism, not a penalty. You will be activated automatically as balance opens.

8. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your data is deleted within 30 days as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Disclaimers

Kindred is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will meet compatible people, that the platform will be available at all times, or that matches or messages will lead to any particular outcome.

We are not responsible for the conduct of other users. Use your own judgment when interacting with people you meet on Kindred.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kindred and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated via email. Continued use of Kindred after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by Swiss law. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Switzerland.

13. Tokens and payments

Kindred offers optional token packs that unlock additional likes beyond the free daily allowance. Tokens are a digital in-platform currency with no cash value and cannot be transferred, refunded, or exchanged.

  • Currency: All transactions are processed in CHF (Swiss francs).
  • Prices: Current token pack prices are displayed at the time of purchase at /tokens. Prices may change; existing purchased tokens are unaffected.
  • Payment processing: Payments are processed by Mollie B.V. Your payment details are handled directly by Mollie and are not stored on Kindred servers.
  • No refunds: Token purchases are final. As a digital good consumed immediately upon use, tokens are not eligible for refund under Swiss consumer law (Art. 40a OR, digital content exception). Exceptions are made only for documented technical errors — contact support@kindredapp.ch.
  • Unused tokens: Unused tokens remain available as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, unused tokens are forfeited.
